Science Teacher

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £130 - £170 per day

Contract Type: Part-Time, 2 Days a Week

Science Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality science instruction, utilising a range of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development and progress of pupils.
  • Identifying and addressing the diverse learning needs of students by providing extra support or enrichment opportunities.
  • Collaborating with other science teachers and faculty members to align teaching strategies, share resources, and develop interdisciplinary projects that integrate science with other subjects.
  • Create an inclusive learning environment that supports all learners, including those with SEND.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement.

Science Teacher Requirements:

  • PGCE in Secondary Science with QTS or other UK recognised teaching qualification.
  • Biology, Physics and Chemistry teaching experience in the last 2 years is preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills..
  • Be committed to child protection, safeguarding and pupil welfare.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
