Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear
Salary: £85 - £110 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full Time, Temporary to Permanent
GSL Education are currently seeking a confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming school in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to play a key role in supporting teaching, learning, and pupil development across the curriculum.
Job Summary:
• Lead small-group and one-to-one interventions to raise pupil attainment.
• Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons under the direction of class teachers.
• Cover classes during teacher absences and ensure high-quality learning continues.
• Assist in assessing pupil progress and maintaining accurate learning records.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to enhance pupil outcomes.
Requirements:
• Available to start immediately and open to long-term employment.
• Hold a Level 4 HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Interest or experience in Maths would be highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting learning.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
