Job Title: Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant

Salary: £100 – £130 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are delighted to offer a rewarding opportunity for a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join a nurturing and forward-thinking setting in Chapel-en-le-Frith.

This role calls for a compassionate and confident professional who can support students in Maths and across other areas of learning, helping them build confidence, understanding, and motivation. You’ll play a key role in supporting pupils with additional or complex needs, ensuring every learner feels valued and capable of success.

Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support, particularly in Maths.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapting learning approaches to meet the diverse needs of SEMH learners.
  • Contributing to a supportive, inclusive, and uplifting classroom environment.

Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant Requirements:

  • A calm, patient, and resilient nature with a genuine passion for education.
  • A great sense of humour and the ability to connect with young learners.
  • Experience supporting pupils in SEMH or alternative provision settings (desirable).
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence with business insurance (for travel between sites).
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
