GSL Education are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to deliver high-quality English lessons to pupils across schools in Barnsley.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for inspiring a love of reading, writing, and language, while supporting students to achieve their full potential. This is an ideal opportunity for teachers seeking flexible placements or long-term roles.
Responsibilities as an English Teacher:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons across a variety of abilities.
- Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to support learning goals.
- Support classroom management and create a positive learning environment.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills through lessons.
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all students, including SEN or EAL pupils.
- Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, and school staff to enhance learning.
- Monitor and track pupil attainment, ensuring progress is recorded accurately.
English Teacher Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching English in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of English curriculum, exam boards, and assessment methods.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students of varied abilities.
- Flexibility to work in different schools and adapt to varying classroom needs.
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain through GSL Education.
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
