Job Title: Teaching Assistant (TA)

Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to support teaching and learning across schools in Barnsley. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and wish to contribute to their academic, social, and emotional development. As a TA, you will work alongside class teachers, support pupils with varying needs, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support learning across the classroom. You will provide 1:1 or small group support, help with lesson delivery, and assist in fostering a safe and engaging learning environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teachers in delivering lessons across various subjects.
- Provide additional help to individuals or small groups of pupils.
- Encourage positive learning behaviours and engagement in class activities.
- Assist in preparing resources, maintaining displays, and supporting classroom organisation.
- Observe and record pupil progress, sharing feedback with teaching staff.
Requirements for Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with children or supporting learning in a school or similar setting.
- A genuine passion for education and helping pupils reach their potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the needs of different learners.
- Good behaviour management skills and a calm, encouraging approach.
- A relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
