Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Barnsley
Salary Range: £95- £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are supporting secondary schools in Barnsley to appoint adaptable and confident Cover Supervisors.
Role Overview:
This role is ideal for individuals who wish to gain classroom experience, develop behaviour management skills, or prepare for a future career in teaching. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise pre-planned lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure students remain on task in the teacher’s absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and supervise pre-set work to classes across different year groups and subjects.
- Ensure pupils remain engaged, focused, and follow school behaviour expectations.
- Provide clear instructions and support to students to help them complete tasks effectively.
- Manage classroom behaviour confidently and calmly, promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
- Report back to the class teacher or department on student engagement and progress after lessons.
Job Requirements: To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Experience working with young people, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to lead a class with confidence.
- Excellent communication skills to engage, guide, and motivate students.
- Adaptability and resilience, able to deliver lessons across a range of subjects.
- A genuine interest in education and supporting student development.
- A relevant degree, Level 3 qualification, or similar experience is desirable.
- An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
