Job Title: Drama Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary Range: £140 - £190 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Role Overview:
GSL Education are delighted to support secondary schools in Barnsley in appointing a dedicated and dynamic Drama Teacher. The role involves delivering engaging Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4, inspiring creativity, performance skills, and reflective thinking. You will be expected to create an inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels confident to explore and express themselves.
Responsibilities as a Drama Teacher:
- Deliver stimulating and creative Drama lessons that engage learners of varying abilities.
- Prepare students for practical and written assessments, including GCSE examinations where applicable.
- Encourage confidence, teamwork, communication, and performance skills through both curriculum and enrichment activities.
- Direct or support school productions, showcases, and Drama-related events to promote a vibrant performing arts culture.
- Monitor student progress, set clear targets, and provide constructive feedback to support development.
- Uphold high standards of behaviour, participation, and enthusiasm within the classroom and wider school setting..
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent) specialising in Drama or the Performing Arts.
- Strong subject knowledge in Drama, theatre history, performance techniques, stagecraft, script work, and creative interpretation.
- A proven ability to deliver inspiring and inclusive lessons, adapting teaching to meet a range of learner needs and abilities.
- Experience directing or contributing to school productions, performances, clubs, or extracurricular arts initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and build confidence in young performers.
- Strong behaviour management skills, fostering a positive learning environment where creativity and respect flourish.
- An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education..
