Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Chesterfield
Salary Range: £95- £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Role Overview:
GSL Education are currently welcoming applications for Cover Supervisors to support schools in Chesterfield. This role is ideal for individuals who can deliver pre-prepared lessons, uphold behavioural expectations, and ensure continuity of learning in the teacher’s absence. It is particularly well-suited to graduates, aspiring teachers, or professionals seeking meaningful experience within an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects and year groups.
- Maintain a calm, orderly, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Manage behaviour in line with school policies to support student engagement and progress.
- Provide guidance and support to pupils to help them stay focused and complete assigned work.
- Supervise students throughout the school day, including lesson transitions or break duties where required..
Job Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school, coaching, mentoring, tutoring, youth work, or similar capacity.
- Strong behaviour management skills, with confidence to lead a classroom independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build positive rapport with pupils and staff.
- Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to respond calmly and professionally to changing situations within the school day.
- A genuine interest in education and a commitment to supporting student learning and welfare.
- Reliable organisational skills, including punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to follow instructions and lesson plans effectively.
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education).
