Job Title: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Chichester
Pay Rate: £90 – £95 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a warm and inclusive school in Chichester. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting a pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development in a nurturing environment.

Role Overview:

Being a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering personalised learning and behaviour support plans.

As a 1:1 LSA, you will:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one support for a pupil with specific learning or additional needs.
  • Help create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering personalised learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Encourage the pupil’s confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
  • Support emotional wellbeing and help the pupil develop communication and social skills.
  • Monitor progress and share observations with staff to ensure consistent support.

Requirements for 1:1 Learning Support Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND, learning difficulties, or additional needs (school or care setting desirable).
  • Strong communication, patience, and behaviour management skills.
  • A compassionate, proactive, and supportive approach to working with pupils.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
