Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Worksop
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

are seeking a committed SEMH TA for a warm and inclusive school in Worksop, where you will help young people overcome barriers, gain confidence, and experience steady academic and personal development.

As an SEMH TA, you will:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
  • Work with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to deliver effective interventions.
  • Promote pupils’ resilience, confidence, and positive social skills.
  • Manage challenging behaviour calmly using restorative approaches.
  • Track pupil progress and share updates with staff.

Requirements for the SEMH TA role:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural challenges.
  • A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to supporting learning and wellbeing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from teaching staff.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
