Full-Time Music Teacher– Southampton, Hampshire

GSL Education are on the lookout for a Design & Technology Teacher in Southampton, starting this January 2026.This is a full-time role. Permanent contract on offer after a probation period has been completed. This full-time role is welcoming both ECTs and experienced teachers.

Responsibilities of the Music Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inspiring music lessons across secondary Key Stages.
  • Encourage students to develop their performance, composition, and listening skills.
  • Direct ensembles, choirs, or school performances to showcase student talent.
  • Foster creativity, discipline, and appreciation for music from various genres and cultures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop a rich and inclusive music curriculum.
  • Assess, record, and support students’ musical progress and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Music.
  • Ability to engage students of varying abilities and interests.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
