Support Manager
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: £29,064 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start: ASAP / January start available

Are you passionate about transforming the lives of young people who face barriers to education? A local SEN school in Basingstoke is seeking a dedicated and proactive Support Manager to join our nurturing and highly committed team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference daily, supporting pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and those at risk of exclusion. As Support Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the provision runs smoothly and that every child receives the support, structure, and care they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate pastoral support staff across the provision
  • Promote and model positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Support the development and implementation of behaviour plans and interventions
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Contribute to safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion across the school
  • Help foster a safe, engaging and aspirational environment for all pupils

Requirements

  • Experience working within a PRU, SEMH school or similar alternative provision
  • Strong behaviour and pastoral support background
  • Resilient, calm, and able to build trust with vulnerable young people
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support staff effectively
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing
