PE Teacher
Location: Hackney
Salary: £165 – £265 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary until 19th December 2025

 

GSL Education London Branch is looking for a PE Teacher to join a vibrant coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher who is committed to inspiring students to achieve their personal best in physical education. The successful PE Teacher will deliver engaging lessons that promote fitness, teamwork, and a lifelong love for sport.

PE Teacher Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver inspiring PE lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5.

  • Encourage participation in a variety of sports and physical activities.

  • Assess, record and report on student progress and achievements.

  • Organise and lead extracurricular sports clubs and school competitions.

  • Promote health, fitness and wellbeing through inclusive teaching practices.

  • Support and motivate students to achieve both academic and personal goals.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school’s PE department.

PE Teacher Job Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the national PE curriculum and assessment methods.

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • A passion for sports, fitness and encouraging active lifestyles.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
