GSL Education are currently seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Brentwood, supporting a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally in a nurturing school environment.


The Role:

  • Provide individualised support to a child with SEN, ensuring their needs are met both in and outside the classroom

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and adapt Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Support the child’s social and emotional development, promoting positive relationships and self-confidence

  • Use tailored strategies to help with communication, focus, and engagement in lessons

  • Encourage independence and celebrate progress, no matter how small

  • Assist in preparing learning materials and maintaining a calm, supportive learning space


About You:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social/emotional challenges)

  • A patient, kind, and proactive approach with a genuine passion for helping children reach their potential

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to build trust and rapport with children and staff

  • A relevant qualification in Education, Childcare, or Special Needs Support is desirable but not essential
