About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work alongside teachers and SEN staff to provide essential classroom and one-to-one support. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils overcome learning barriers, manage behaviour effectively, and engage positively in lessons. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys making a real difference in pupils’ educational and personal development.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with additional learning needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings

  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery, ensuring activities are accessible and inclusive

  • Encourage independence and confidence through structured guidance and positive reinforcement

  • Implement behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques when needed

  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver consistent, high-quality support

  • Assist with personal care tasks where appropriate

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or learning difficulties

  • Understanding of individual learning plans and differentiated support

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children’s development

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
