1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Burley
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time
Are you a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant who thrives on helping children reach their full potential? GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and patient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in Burley.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to an individual student, helping them overcome challenges and engage fully in their learning. Your role will focus on promoting progress, confidence, and independence, while maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with a student on a one-to-one basis to support learning and personal development.
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Collaborate with class teachers and SENCOs to monitor and record student progress.
- Encourage the student to engage in class activities and develop essential life skills.
- Support emotional, social, and behavioural needs with a patient and nurturing approach.
- Help prepare learning materials and maintain an organised learning environment.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3 / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (or equivalent qualification).
- Previous experience supporting students with additional or special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff.
- A calm, empathetic, and positive approach to challenges.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
