Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Doncaster (DN12)
Pay Rate: £150 – £230 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a compassionate and driven SEMH Teacher passionate about supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join an inclusive and supportive school in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference, helping pupils develop resilience, confidence, and achieve their academic potential.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Develop and deliver creative, adaptive lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
  • Establish a calm, secure, and encouraging classroom setting that supports both emotional and academic development.
  • Collaborate effectively with SENCOs, support staff, and pastoral teams to deliver tailored learning and behaviour interventions.
  • Nurture strong, trusting relationships with pupils to inspire engagement, self-esteem, and resilience.
  • Assess and track individual progress, refining teaching methods to ensure continual improvement.

To be an SEMH Teacher, you’ll require:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs (preferred).
  • Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any employment gaps.
