Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
 Location: Rotherham (S66)
 Pay Rate: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
 Start Date: Immediate
 Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

 GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Rotherham (S66). This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in pupils’ lives by helping them develop confidence, emotional regulation, and a positive attitude toward learning.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH TA, you will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing, resilience, and engagement in learning.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Offer targeted one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges.
 - Contribute to a safe, structured, and caring classroom atmosphere that supports emotional wellbeing.
 - Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to deliver personalised learning and behaviour strategies.
 - Encourage positive participation in lessons while supporting pupils’ academic and personal growth.
 - Help build pupils’ confidence, resilience, and independence through steady guidance.
 - Respond to challenging behaviour calmly, promoting constructive and supportive outcomes.
 
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- · Experience working with children or young people who have SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or other learning difficulties.
 - A patient, caring, and forward-thinking attitude when supporting pupils in the classroom.
 - Strong skills in communication and building positive relationships.
 - Able to work collaboratively with staff and follow the direction of teachers.
 
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
 - A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
