Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Rotherham, S66
Salary: £150 – £230 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Are you a passionate and resilient educator with a commitment to supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a specialist provision in Rotherham.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored education to students who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
Key Responsibilities of the SEMH Teacher:
- Design and deliver inspiring lessons tailored to the unique needs of SEMH learners.
- Create a supportive, inclusive, and caring classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to support students’ overall growth.
- Apply effective behaviour management techniques and encourage constructive peer relationships.
- Track, assess, and report pupil progress while adjusting teaching methods to suit individual development.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- We greatly value a background in supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Empathetic, calm, and flexible approach to teaching and support.
- Solid understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection protocols.
To work with GSL Education as an SEMH Teacher, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
