1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Lytchett Minster
Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you a compassionate and patient individual looking to make a meaningful impact on a child’s educational journey? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join friendly and supportive schools in Lytchett Minster.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific student, providing one-to-one academic, emotional, and behavioural support throughout the school day. You will assist with learning activities, encourage positive engagement, and help the child develop confidence and independence within the classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support for a student with specific learning or developmental needs.
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Encourage participation and engagement during lessons and activities.
- Support the student with classroom tasks, social interaction, and communication.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the teacher and teaching staffs.
- Help manage behaviour in a calm, patient, and supportive manner.
- Foster confidence, motivation, and emotional well-being in the student.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a 1:1 support role is desirable.
- A qualification in childcare, Teaching Assistant or education (such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, empathetic, and adaptable attitude.
