Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Christchurch
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning and helping them thrive? GSL Education are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join schools in Christchurch.
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work with individual pupils or small groups, assisting with learning activities, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting social and emotional development. You will support teachers and pupils in the classroom, helping children access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Support pupils with additional learning needs or challenges if needed.
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence in learning.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and staff to support pupils’ progress.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualifications are preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different age groups and learning needs.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
