Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day

GSL Education are currently seeking a nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Rotherham. This role is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support, help pupils overcome barriers to learning, and make a real difference in their educational journey.

Role Overview:
As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs. You will provide one-to-one or small group support, adapt learning activities, and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with special educational needs in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Provide one-to-one or group support tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Help adapt lesson materials to ensure accessibility for all learners.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Assist with personal care needs where required.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (in school or similar settings).
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
