Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Doncaster (DN11)
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH TA to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Doncaster (DN11). This rewarding position offers the chance to make a real difference by supporting young learners to overcome barriers, build confidence, and develop essential life and learning skills.

In this role of SEMH TA, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
  • Help establish a calm, structured, and supportive environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and positive engagement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to deliver tailored learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Encourage pupils to develop social skills, self-regulation, and a positive attitude toward learning.
  • Assist in monitoring progress, recording observations, and providing feedback to staff to enhance support strategies.

Requirements for the SEMH Teaching Assistant role:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs (preferred).
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
