Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S5)
Pay Rate: £150 – £230 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEMH Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Sheffield (S5). This role offers an opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping young learners develop confidence, emotional regulation, and a love for learning in a structured and nurturing environment.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs.
  • Foster a safe, calm, and supportive classroom environment that encourages emotional stability and engagement.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement individual learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to promote motivation, resilience, and self-esteem.
  • Monitor pupil progress, adapt teaching strategies, and provide feedback to support ongoing development.

Requirements for the SEMH Teacher role:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs (essential).
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable teaching approach.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
