SEMH Teacher
Location: Chapeltown (S35)
Salary: £150 – £230 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic SEMH Teacher to join schools across Chapeltown.

As a SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with SEMH challenges. You will work closely with support staff, parents, and school leadership to ensure every student receives high-quality education in a safe and supportive environment. Your work will help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

SEMH Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students achieve their learning goals.
  • Implement and monitor behaviour management and support strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to leadership and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs and support staff to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

SEMH Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and SEMH interventions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
