SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S26)
Salary: £150 – £230 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking an experienced SEMH Teacher to join schools across Sheffield.
About the Role:
As a SEMH Teacher, you will lead and deliver high-quality teaching for students with SEMH needs, planning and adapting lessons to meet their individual learning requirements. You will work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and families to promote positive outcomes and foster resilience, confidence, and engagement in learning.
Main Responsibilities of a SEMH Teacher:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
- Implement and monitor individual education and behaviour plans.
- Develop positive relationships with students, building trust and providing consistent support.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Support students in developing coping strategies, emotional resilience, and social skills.
- Collaborate with staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to support.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
- Address challenging behaviour with patience, understanding, and effective strategies.
- Contribute to the school’s SEMH programmes and initiatives.
Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
- Proven experience teaching students with SEMH needs in schools.
- Strong understanding of social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
