About the Role
As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with autism and additional learning needs. Working closely with class teachers and SEN specialists, you will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with interventions, and help create a calm and inclusive classroom environment. Your support will directly impact pupils’ learning, development, and overall school experience.
Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and additional SEN needs.

Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities tailored to individual pupil needs.

Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development.

Help implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and track progress.

Assist with personal care needs where required, maintaining dignity and sensitivity.

Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and engagement.
Qualifications and Skills

Experience working with children with autism or additional learning needs.

Understanding of child development, behaviour support, and communication strategies.

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff.

Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.

Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete all relevant safer recruitment checks.
