Salary: £90 – £95 per day

About the Role
As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with autism and additional learning needs. Working closely with class teachers and SEN specialists, you will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with interventions, and help create a calm and inclusive classroom environment. Your support will directly impact pupils’ learning, development, and overall school experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and additional SEN needs.

  • Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities tailored to individual pupil needs.

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development.

  • Help implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and track progress.

  • Assist with personal care needs where required, maintaining dignity and sensitivity.

  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and engagement.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience working with children with autism or additional learning needs.

  • Understanding of child development, behaviour support, and communication strategies.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff.

  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.

  • Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete all relevant safer recruitment checks.
