Salary: £90 – £95 per day

About the Role
The SEND Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and SEN specialists to deliver interventions, provide 1:1 support, and contribute to creating a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development.

  • Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and record pupil progress where required.

  • Assist with personal care needs as necessary, ensuring dignity and respect.

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and confidence.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND or additional learning needs.

  • Understanding of child development, behaviour management, and communication strategies.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow teacher guidance.

  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.

  • Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete all relevant safer recruitment checks.
