SEN Teaching Assistant – Eastbourne
Location: Eastbourne
Salary: £90 – £95 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time

About the Role
The SEN Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop independence. You will work alongside class teachers and SEN specialists to deliver interventions, provide 1:1 support, and contribute to a calm and inclusive learning environment. Your work will have a direct impact on pupils’ progress and experience at school.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development.

  • Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.

  • Assist with personal care needs when required, ensuring dignity and sensitivity.

  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and confidence.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience working with children with SEN or additional learning needs.

  • Understanding of child development, behaviour management, and communication strategies.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow teacher guidance.

  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.

  • Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete all relevant safer recruitment checks.
