Job Title: Learning Support Worker
Location: Dorchester
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

About the Role

As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs, helping them to overcome barriers to education and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored academic and emotional support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to deliver effective learning strategies.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and personal development.
  • Track student progress and contribute to regular reviews and reports.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting is essential.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN, learning support, or youth work are advantageous.

To work with GSL Education as a Learning Support Worker, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
