Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Anston
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and supportive school in Anston. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in building confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.
As an SEMH TA, you will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment, encouraging pupils to build confidence, resilience, and positive social skills.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges.
- Help create a structured, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement personalised learning and behaviour plans.
- Encourage pupils to develop self-confidence, resilience, and positive social skills.
- Support pupils in managing challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
- Assist in monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers to inform future support.
To be an SEMH TA, you’ll require:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural difficulties, or additional learning needs.
- A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team under teacher guidance.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
