Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Dinnington. This is a rewarding opportunity to help pupils overcome challenges, build confidence, and engage positively with their learning.
As an SEMH TA, you will provide personalised support to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, both individually and in small group settings.
Responsibilities of SEMH TA:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Help create a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement personalised learning and behaviour plans.
- Encourage pupils to develop resilience, self-confidence, and positive social skills.
- Support pupils in managing challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
- Assist in monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers to inform future support.
Requirements for SEMH TA:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs.
- A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team under teacher guidance.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
