Pay Rate: £90 – £95 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Chichester. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help pupils with autism develop essential skills, build confidence, and engage positively with their learning environment.
The Autism Support Worker provides personalised support to children and young people with autism, helping them engage with learning and develop essential social and communication skills.
As an Autism Support Worker, you will:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with autism, tailoring your approach to meet individual needs.
- Assist teachers and SENCOs in delivering personalised learning and social development plans.
- Encourage pupils to build communication, social, and coping skills while supporting emotional regulation.
- Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment where pupils can succeed.
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
Requirements for Autism Support Worker:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with autism or other additional needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to respond flexibly to pupils’ needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
