Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rotherham (S65)
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEMH TA to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Rotherham (S65). This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support pupils in overcoming challenges, developing confidence, and engaging positively with their learning journey.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Help create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment that fosters emotional wellbeing and engagement.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement personalised learning and behaviour strategies.
- Encourage pupils to build resilience, self-confidence, and positive relationships.
- Support pupils in managing challenging behaviour with empathy, patience, and consistency.
- Monitor pupil progress and communicate feedback to staff to guide further support.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
- A calm, understanding, and proactive approach to helping pupils reach their potential.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the direction of teaching staff.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any employment gaps.
