Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rotherham (S61)
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH TA to join a caring and inclusive school in Rotherham (S61). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives, helping them overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges.
- Create a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional wellbeing.
- Assist teachers and SENCOs in implementing tailored learning and behaviour plans.
- Encourage pupils to develop self-confidence, social skills, and emotional resilience.
- Support students in managing challenging behaviour with empathy and consistency.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing feedback with teaching staff to support future planning.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
- A calm, caring, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
