Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Rotherham (S60)
Pay Rate: £150 – £230 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a compassionate, resilient, and enthusiastic teacher with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Rotherham (S60). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic and emotional development of young learners who require additional support.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEMH challenges.
  • Foster a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment where every pupil feels valued.
  • Implement effective strategies to promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and academic progress.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and SENCOs to develop individualised learning and behaviour plans.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage self-esteem and motivation.
  • Track pupil progress and provide feedback to support continuous development.

Requirements for SEMH Teacher:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and reflective teaching approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
