Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rotherham (S60)
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a caring and resilient SEMH TA to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Rotherham (S60). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in pupils’ lives by helping them develop confidence, emotional wellbeing, and positive learning behaviours.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Help create a calm, structured, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to deliver individual learning and behaviour plans.
- Promote emotional resilience, confidence, and social development in pupils.
- Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour in a positive, consistent manner.
- Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to inform future planning and interventions.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
- A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
