Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools
Location: Stockport and surrounding areas
Pay: £105 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible supply work available
Start date: Immediate starts available
About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic, confident, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and want to play an active role in their education — without the demands of full-time teaching.
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons, maintaining classroom discipline, and ensuring that students remain engaged and on task during teacher absences.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver pre-set work and ensure pupils stay focused and productive.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress or issues during cover.

Support the school’s ethos and contribute to a positive learning environment.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:

Has excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Is confident, organised, and resilient.

Enjoys working with young people and has a genuine interest in education.

Has previous experience working in a school setting (preferred but not essential).

Holds a degree or equivalent qualification — ideal for graduates considering a future in teaching!
