Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Worksop. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in pupils’ lives by helping them develop confidence, emotional regulation, and a positive attitude toward learning.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH TA, you will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing, resilience, and engagement in learning.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Help maintain a structured and nurturing learning environment that promotes safety, respect, and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement tailored learning and behaviour plans.
- Encourage pupils to engage positively in learning, supporting both their academic and personal development.
- Promote resilience, confidence, and independence through consistent encouragement and understanding.
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and supportive manner.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural difficulties, or additional learning needs.
- A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to classroom support.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of teaching staff.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
