Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Rotherham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Role Overview:

As an SEN TA, you will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, providing both one-to-one and small group assistance to help them access the curriculum effectively.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide individual or small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or moderate learning challenges.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities that meet each pupil’s unique needs and abilities.
  • Foster a positive, caring, and inclusive learning atmosphere that promotes emotional and academic growth.
  • Support pupils in developing essential life skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement personalised learning plans and track progress.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement through patience, empathy, and consistent support.

Requirements for SEN TA:

  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEN or additional learning needs.
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils’ academic and personal development.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
