Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £150 – £230 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a caring and inclusive school in Rotherham. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an empathetic and motivated educator who thrives on supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve both personal and academic growth.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver lessons for pupils with SEMH needs, supporting their learning, wellbeing, and progress.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that engage and motivate pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs.
  • Establish a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and respect.
  • Collaborate effectively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to design and implement tailored behaviour and learning plans.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage self-esteem, resilience, and positive behaviour.
  • Track pupil progress carefully, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and mutual respect, ensuring every pupil feels valued and supported.

Requirements for SEMH Teacher:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Prior experience working with pupils with SEMH or other complex needs is highly desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable teaching style with a strong commitment to student welfare.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome challenges and succeed.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
