SEN Support Worker– Needed- Basingstoke
Location: Basingstoke
Salary Scale: £82.80 to £100 per day
Start Date: ASAP

A fantastic school located in Basingstoke is seeking an SEN Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time, term-time position supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on an individual basis, starting asap.
The students in this Basingstoke school have a variety of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, challenging behaviour or learning difficulties, so if you have experience of working 1-2-1 with SEN or have a passion and desire to support children with additional needs, then this could be a role for you.
The role of an SEN Support Worker:
- To support students who struggle with their class work
- Facilitate a fun and friendly learning environment
- To provide support to the class teacher
- To help the class teacher prepare lesson materials and classroom boards
- To keep the classroom a tidy and presentable environment
- To encourage children to do their best
- Help manage classroom behaviour
- Listen to the children read and practice their phonics
The successful SEN Support Worker:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs (preferred, not essential).
- Experience working with SEN (in school, care, or voluntary settings) preferred, not essential
- Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals.
- A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.

- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
