Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)

Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time
Are you a confident and adaptable individual looking to gain classroom experience while supporting pupils’ learning?
GSL Education are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join a supportive school in Blyth. This role is ideal for graduates or aspiring teachers who wish to develop their classroom management skills and play a key part in maintaining learning continuity when teachers are absent.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Encourage participation and support pupils in completing their work.
- Maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Report any issues or pupil progress to the class teacher or senior staff.
- Work collaboratively with school staff to uphold school policies and standards.
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive atmosphere.
- Flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic about education.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
