Job Title: Pastoral Officer

Chesterfield and Chapel - en - le - Frith (between these two areas)
Pay:
£110 - £130 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a Pastoral Officer to work across Chesterfield and Chapel-en-le-Frith, providing essential safeguarding and pastoral support within school settings. This offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of pupil welfare, ensuring that every child receives the care, protection, and intervention they need to thrive. The position requires a full UK driving licence and business insurance, as you will work across multiple sites.

Responsibilities of the Pastoral Officer:

  • Identify pupils at risk and ensure timely, effective safeguarding interventions in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
  • Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, supporting the academy’s safeguarding strategy.
  • Provide pupils with robust pastoral care across different school sites, offering guidance and support for their well-being.
  • Support staff in enhancing their safeguarding knowledge and ensuring best practice across the school.
  • Manage your own diary and travel between locations to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Work closely with the safeguarding and attendance teams to address attendance as a safeguarding concern.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a safeguarding or pastoral role within an educational or care setting.
  • Strong understanding of KCSIE and safeguarding legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise caseloads, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Full UK driving licence and business insurance (essential).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
