Full-Time Drama/Performing Arts Teacher – Southampton, Hampshire

Do you have the creativity and passion to inspire young performers and bring the world of Drama and Performing Arts to life?

A vibrant secondary school in Southampton is looking for a dedicated Drama and Performing Arts Teacher to join their team starting from January 2026. This role offers the opportunity to nurture students’ confidence, creativity, and performance skills while delivering high-quality lessons. A school tour is available before being invited back to the school for a more formal interview process. Interviews are to take place over the next couple of weeks.

Key Responsibilities of the Drama and Performing Arts Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic Drama and Performing Arts lessons that engage and inspire students.
  • Develop students’ performance, teamwork, and self-expression through practical and theoretical learning.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
  • Contribute to school productions, extracurricular activities, and wider performing arts opportunities.

Requirements for the Drama and Performing Arts Teacher role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Drama and Performing Arts, with a passion for creative education.
  • Experience teaching Drama and Arts is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting the well-being of all students.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
