Job Title: Behaviour Mentor Assistant
Location: Dinnington
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a Behaviour Mentor Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Dinnington. This role provides a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in developing positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional regulation in a structured and nurturing environment.


As a Behaviour Mentor Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with behaviour management both in and outside the classroom.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies and personalised support plans.
  • Assist in the use of behavioural de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations effectively.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting motivation, self-confidence, and resilience.
  • Encourage pupils to engage positively with learning and social interactions.
  • Monitor pupil behaviour and progress, providing feedback to inform interventions.


Requirements for Behaviour Mentor Assistant:

  • Experience working with children in a school or SEMH setting is desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to challenging behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
