Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £150 – £230 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are seeking a qualified SEMH Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Rotherham, catering to both primary and secondary pupils. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEMH challenges.
- Use behavioural de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies to manage classroom situations effectively.
- Build trusting relationships that promote emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and motivation.
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that encourages positive engagement and academic progress.
- Work closely with support staff, parents, and external professionals to develop individual education and behaviour plans.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting your teaching to best support personal and academic development.
Requirements for SEMH Teacher:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Previous experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs (in a specialist or mainstream setting).
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing challenging behaviour.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine commitment to helping every pupil reach their potential.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
