Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive Mental Health Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a nurturing school environment in Burley. About the Role:
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to students experiencing emotional or mental health challenges. You’ll work closely with educators, pastoral teams, and external professionals to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer one-on-one and small group support to students with mental health needs
- Assist in developing coping strategies and emotional regulation techniques
- Promote positive mental health and well-being across the school
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and mental health professionals to implement tailored support plans
- Encourage participation in classroom and social activities
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and empathetic learning space
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with mental health challenges is highly desirable
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
- Relevant training in mental health or youth support is advantageous
To work with GSL Education as Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years
- Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education
