Educational Support Worker
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives and helping them thrive in their learning journey? GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Educational Support Worker to join schools in Bournemouth.

As an Educational Support Worker, you will work closely with students to support their academic, emotional, and social development. You will assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all learners can achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and completing classroom tasks.
  • Work alongside teachers to plan and deliver tailored learning activities.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils needing additional help.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation during lessons.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being among students.
  • Monitor progress and report feedback to teaching staff.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and learning materials.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in an educational setting or with children.
  • A CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare, or relevant qualification is preferred.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive nature.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
