About the Role
GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school community in North Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to raising literacy standards and inspiring students to develop a love for language and literature.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with KS5 experience desirable), fostering critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills in your students.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver well-structured, creative, and inclusive English lessons in line with the national curriculum.

Differentiate teaching to meet the diverse needs of all learners, ensuring progress and achievement for every student.

Assess, record, and report on pupils’ progress and attainment.

Contribute to the development of the English department and participate in wider school initiatives.

Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages high expectations and student engagement.
Candidate Requirements

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Hold a degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related subject.

Have recent and relevant experience teaching English at secondary school level.

Demonstrate excellent classroom management and strong communication skills.

Hold a current enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
